Central Otago District Council are looking for suitably qualified main building contractors to submit a Tender for the proposed Manuherekia Valley Community Hub in Omakau, Central Otago.
The proposed Manuherekia Valley Community Hub will be located on the Omakau Recreation Reserve and will be an important community facility that will service the Manuherekia Valley, Ida Valley and wider Central Otago district.
As this project is funded in part by external funding of which applications and other community fundraising will be in progress at the time of this procurement, this tender and all agreements will be subject to full funding of the project being achieved.
The programme aims to appoint a main contractor from July 2025 – Looking towards a construction start date in November 2025.
This is a significant project for Central Otago District Council and the local community and requires a capable and experienced contractor with track record in the associated works and demonstrated capability in the following:
• Evidence of delivering comparable complexity and scale of project with comparable project features
• An understanding and capability delivering within Central Otago and working with local sub-contractors
• Understanding and ability to identify and manage risks in relation to supply chain and programme
• Capacity to deliver with qualified key personnel with demonstrated experience and track record
• Excellent health and safety record and approach to SSSP
• Robust methodology managing risk and quality
• Delivering value and broader outcomes for CODC and the Manuherekia and Ida Valleys communities.
• Demonstrated ability in delivering sustainable outcomes through construction work practices
• Robust work management plans to manage and mitigate risk.
• Experience in delivering projects of high Community interest and understanding the importance of high quality communication and being an exemplary neighbour.
