The purpose of this call for Registrations of Interest (ROI) is to select a shortlist of Respondents who will be invited to submit a full proposal in response to a Request for Tender (RFP). The RFP is to select a preferred contractor (the Preferred Contractor) for the external refurbishment of the existing buildings named Kidz First and McIndoe at Middlemore Hospital (the Project) with whom Te Whatu Ora – Counties Manukau may enter into a Main Design and Build Contract.
ROI is not a guarantee to secure the contract, there is still an RFP phase to go through. Making the shortlist and/or securing this contract does not guarantee future work being awarded. The Buyer may be required to obtain internal and external approvals before entering into any Contract, including (without limitation) Board and Minister of Health approvals.
If successful during the RFP process, the Preferred Contractor would enter into a pre-agreed form of construction contract outlining an agreed price and detailed programme (amongst other things).
The construction contract will be based on NZS 3916:2013 with Te Whatu Ora – Counties Manukau’s special conditions (Design and Build Contract ) and the draft contract will be disclosed as part of the RFP. It is intended that the works under the Design and Build Contract will be undertaken in a single stage.
• We are looking for procurement of a Design and Build Construction Contractor.
• The key objective of this procurement is remediating the external weathering envelope of the Kidz First and McIndoe buildings and any associated damaged building fabric within and adjacent to the water ingress areas.
• The procurement’s proposed outcomes are to return these buildings to a status that complies with the building code and provides an extended life of 50 years.
