Callaghan Innovation is New Zealand's Innovation Agency; its primary objective is to support science and technology based innovation and its commercialisation by businesses for a better New Zealand.

A Programme Business Case (PBC) was presented to Minister Woods in August 2018 outlining the investment needed to address decades of underinvestment in the Gracefield site to create a world-class innovation hub. The PBC proposed a phased multi-year redevelopment of the site within two programmes of work - the Tactical Estate Continuity Programme and Strategic Programme.

The Tactical Estates Continuity Programme seeks to fulfill its duty of care responsibilities to its employees and tenants. The programme has been split into five tranches with Tranche 5 - Business Growth Workspaces seeking to resolve the issue of old facilities and limited workspaces constraining the growth of Callaghan Innovation's commercial businesses. Tranche 5.1 represents one of the projects within Tranche 5.

What we need.
Tranche 5.1 is a project that encompasses the design and build of workspaces to enable the business growth of three stakeholders - KiwiStar, Measurements Standards Laboratory NZ (MSL) and Protoshop. Callaghan Innovation through GIQ is seeking a Registration of Interest to provide Building Services Consultancy services through the design and construction of the project. The Structural/Civil Engineers will be required to fully design the services required and carry out site observation during the construction phase.

The successful organisation will have experience in structural, civil and geotechnical engineering delivery for complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects, working with designers and contractors and have experience working on a live site with business as usual and core activities remaining within the existing building. The organization and nominated team will have experience in the sue of 3D modelling software and coordinating with other consultants models. Callaghan Innovation is looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to deliver the services we are procuring.
