The Streamline Program of work being undertaken by the Commerce Commission (the Commission) is designed to deliver business process improvements and supporting software over several projects. Combined the projects will enable the Commission to;
• Manage and track core business processes and functions.
• Automate current business processes (where practical).
• Have a single view of past and present Commission interactions with consumers, businesses, stakeholders, etc.
• Have flexible reporting on the above for all levels of the Commission.
• Enable external third parties to interact with the Commission via its website.
It is important that the solution enables and supports the Commission to become more efficient and effective in how we deliver outcomes for New Zealanders. The project also aims to make the Commission more transparent about the work it does and increase our interactions with consumers, traders, industries and other agencies.
It is very important that the solution be user-friendly, and enables optimised streamlined processes. It is also critical that the system manages and safeguards private and confidential information appropriately.
The Commission is seeking a flexible tool that can be configured, added to and changed quickly and simply. Our preferred approach is to work closely with the preferred supplier in the first and largest project, and to train a Commission staff member on how to configure the system.
It is of the upmost importance to the Commission that our historical data is not lost or corrupted when it is migrated into the new tool.
