Overview

The sector risk profiling (SRP) method is based around capturing the knowledge, experience, and perceptions, of as many participants as possible from within the sector. The resulting mix of fact and opinion is combined with evidential data, such as industry studies and demographics, and expressed as a set of risk statements that describe both the risk and the severity of its influence on safety. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is seeking to appoint a risk management professional/organisation to work closely with the CAA and the large and medium aircraft air transport sector participants to identify the risks, and the causes and treatments of the risks, affecting them.
The CAA is looking for a risk management professional/organisation with aviation experience to engage comprehensively with the sector stakeholders to identify risks, causes, and treatments, and work closely with the CAA to establish a clear understanding of the risks, a risk register including risk treatments, and an implementation plan.
The CAA is looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience, and infrastructure to deliver excellent sector engagement, clear risk identification, and risk management. They need to have a good track record in stakeholder engagement, management and implementation of risk mitigations, and effective networks and strong relationships within the risk management community.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a major national aviation risk management initiative. Sector Risk Profiling is an emerging approach to risk management and the CAA want to be at the forefront of global risk identification and treatment application. Large and medium aircraft air transport operators are essential to economic growth and ensuring the safety of their environment is key to maximising that growth. Through identification of risks and risk treatments, your facilitation will help further develop safe and efficient air transport in New Zealand.
