Provision of Orthotic Services

Bay of Plenty District Health Board wish to select a preferred Provider for the supply of Orthotic Services who is capable of providing a full Disability Support Services Strategic programme for its sites located within the Bay of Plenty Region

The preferred Provider will need to:
 Provide a full range of Orthotic Services including assessment, provision(production & Fitting),training,review,repair and maintenance of Orthoses to the BOPDHB community
 Provide coverage and support opportunities in the Bay of Plenty Region
 Effective habilitation and rehabilitation
 Provide a prompt, efficient, flexible service
 Provide a cost effective service

Distinctive skills we will be looking for in a Provider:
 Proven skills and expertise in similar contracts(size; national coverage)
 “Best practice” in Orthotic design and provision is researched, evaluated and applied
 The ability to increase efficiency with redesigning orthotic services around the needs of the patients
 That Orthotic services are provided in a timely manner to compliment, enhance and/or support all other management and treatment interventions
 That the person and their appropriate support people are educated in the use of the orthosis so that maximum benefits are gained for the person
 Best allocation and use of premises & resources whilst maintaining service provision
