Overview

Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Airways) is a State-Owned Enterprise established under the State-Owned Enterprise Act 1986 and is a public company registered under the Companies Act 1993.

Airways’ core business is the provision of Air Traffic Management (ATM) services and associated aviation infrastructure services. Our goal is to optimise the entire ATM network to provide the best economic outcome for all industry participants.

Airways’ business is focused on delivering outstanding air navigation services in the New Zealand airspace and transforming great ideas into a portfolio of highly profitable businesses providing world class products and services.

New Zealand’s current airspace structure has evolved from legacy systems and practices, which have been iteratively improved over time. This approach has resulted in fragmented procedures, inefficiencies, and increased operational complexity. In response, Airways is undertaking a comprehensive redesign of the airspace architecture to integrate modern communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) technologies, standardise procedures, and enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Airways’ is exploring options for engaging an external partner to validate the developed concepts for the Airspace Architecture Redesign Project. This RFI aims to identify potential vendors, assess their capabilities, and gather information on their methodologies, tools, data requirements, and indicative costs.

The intention of this RFI is to understand market capabilities to inform a future Request for Proposal (RFP).
