Who are we?
ACC works to reduce the overall incidence and impact of injury in New Zealand, through delivery of injury prevention, rehabilitation and compensation services.
ACC is a crown entity and is governed by a Board appointed by the Minister for ACC.
The ACC Scheme provides comprehensive, no fault cover for accidental injury for all New Zealand citizens, residents and visitors. When injury does occur, ACC gives people access to a range of medical, financial and other support aimed at helping them return to work and everyday life as quickly and fully as possible.
What does this NOI mean to you?
This Notice of Information (NOI) is to advise that ACC intends to issue and Request for Tender (RFT) for Vocational Medical Services in early February 2015 – indicative date.
The RFT will be published on GETS. The RFT questionnaire and related information will be made available to the market via an online tender tool supported by Trade Interchange.
ACC wants to attract Suppliers - and Named Providers - to provide a range of services under the proposed new integrated services contract for Vocational Medical Services.
What is this Vocational Medical Services RFT about?
ACC has undertaken a review of current medical assessment services which has resulted in the re-design of medical assessment services related to vocational rehabilitation (vocational medical assessments). The re-design integrates a suite of services and extends the role of the medical practitioner who can support the vocational rehabilitation process to form the Vocational Medical Service.
One of the aims of the Vocational Medical Services tender is to ensure that ACC can access a range of high-quality service providers for our clients. The range of specialist services currently provided under a number of contracts will be delivered through one contract, encouraging greater collaboration between professional groups for more appropriate, streamlined and client-focused services.
The following medical assessment services are contracted by ACC to support vocational rehabilitation. These services are provided as separate and distinct contracts where medical assessors provide episodic services:
- Clinical Review of Fitness for Work (CRFW) assessment
- Initial medical assessment (IMA)
- Vocational independence medical assessment (VIMA)
