Overview
We’re seeing more people requiring time off work due to injury, and their average time away from work is getting longer.
Longer recovery timeframes and extended time off work has negative impacts for the injured person, their whānau and community. This is also putting pressure on the Accident Compensation Scheme and the sustainability of the entitlements we provide.
To tackle this challenge and make meaningful improvement for injured New Zealanders we have two opportunities available.
Opportunity One – Request for Information – Your ideas
We’re looking for ideas – big or small – on how we collectively work together to improve recovery outcomes. We want to work with the sector, to look at solution-focused initiatives that can provide benefits such as:
• Reduced time to return to work or independence
• Better rehabilitation outcomes
• Reduction in the need for weekly compensation for low complex injuries
To submit your ideas, please download and complete the RFI and response form attached to this Invitation. Then send to primarycare@acc.co.nz by 16 March 2025.
Opportunity Two – Expression of Interest - External Reference Group
To support this work we’re forming a Primary Care Provider Advisory Group to provide guidance on potential solutions that will have a positive impact.
We’re looking for a group of senior primary care representatives or thought leaders who want to partner with us to help address the shared challenge and improve recovery outcomes for all New Zealanders.
You can nominate someone or yourself.
To submit your nomination, please download the documents on our other GETS notice: Expression of Interest – Working together to improve outcomes – General Practice – External Reference Group.
