Auckland Council is seeking to appoint a supplier to map the material flows and carbon emissions of Auckland’s food system. The purpose of this notice is to identify suppliers interested in participating in the tender.
Background
Auckland Council is seeking a suitably qualified consultant (or consultants) to quantify the material flows of Auckland’s food system and associated consumption–based emissions.
The consultant will have specialist technical expertise in:
• System flow analysis methodology, to provide a holistic view of how food flows through a system
• Estimating the quantities of materials that flow through, and the waste and loss that is generated at key points across a food system, from production to consumption and end-of-life management
• Undertaking a carbon footprint assessment to quantify the consumption- based emissions associated across the food and beverage supply chain
Due to the complexity of this work, and specializations required, a joint proposal (involving multiple suppliers) may be required.
