This project is made up of two components - the second stage of the MRI refurbishment; and the Hybrid Gamma Camera replacement (Note: it is intended that these are constructed concurrently, but the SDHB reserves the right to construct these non-concurrently).
MRI stage 2 refurbishment: This includes development of the Patient Waiting area, installing an accessible toilet and installation of a new ventilation system. Demolition and removal of the redundant lead shielding in the old Philips MRI Room will also form part of this component.
Hybrid Gamma Camera replacement: Removal of the existing Gamma Camera machine, and replacement with a new Hybrid Gamma Camera, construction of a new control room, and refurbishment of existing room into the Waiting Room and Changing Room.
The supply and installation of the new Hybrid Gamma Camera equipment will be by others.
All works will be undertaken following the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, The Health and Safety at Work Act (Asbestos) Regulations 2016, all other Regulations, guidelines and Approved Codes of Practice.
Southern DHB is seeking a provider that will hold paramount the safety and welfare of staff, patients, visitors and contractors. The DHB is also seeking suppliers who are able to submit an all-inclusive fee for consideration.
The work must be undertaken with consideration of the Health & Safety information provided in Appendix A.
