The Contract is for the strengthening of SH27 Ngarua Stream Bridge (BSN 109) located at RP 0/10.87 near Kaihere in the Waikato. The works involve concrete repairs, installation of shear brackets to reinforce the beam/slab construction joint interface, and installation of external post-tensioning.
The 2-span bridge was constructed circa late 1930s and comprises in-situ cast, reinforced concrete T-beams. The superstructure is supported on reinforced concrete abutments and a central pier, which are supported on reinforced concrete piles.
The works include an 80 Working Day contract period and a base estimate of $1.0M.
Only tenderers pre-qualified to “Bridge Construction – Level C (3C)” under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System will be eligible to submit a tender.
