The NZ Transport Agency invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from suitably qualified and experienced consortia of contractors and consultants wishing to submit a proposal for the Implementation phase of the Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway project (formerly known as the Manawatū Gorge Replacement).
The project will be delivered under an Alliance ‘variant’ procurement model.
Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway is a new 11.5km section of state highway between Ashhurst and Woodville. It will replace the existing section of SH3 through the Manawatū Gorge, which has been closed to the public since April 2017.
The works include the construction of at least four structures (including a 350m+ long bridge over the Manawatū River at the mouth of the gorge) and earthworks in the order of 6,000,000 cubic metres.
The works include the development of the detailed design for construction; securing the necessary statutory approvals and permits; and supply of all labour materials and plant for the construction of the project to the prescribed standards and conditions.
It is envisaged that the Alliance ‘variant’ contract will be awarded in June 2019.
ROI are welcomed from consortia that can demonstrate prequalification to Levels 3A and 4A and experience in the delivery of large infrastructure projects of a similar scale to the Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway project.
ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter, in response to this advertisement, advising consortium and contact details, and identifying all key subcontractors and consultants.
The NZ Transport Agency reserves the right to shortlist applicants through a Statement of Interest and Ability (SIA) process if the number of registered parties makes this necessary.
Final procurement of the contract will be by invitation to consortia registered through this ROI process and shortlisted through the SIA (if necessary). The project will not be re-advertised publicly.
ROI submissions are to be uploaded to the GETS eTender box in a single file (pdf format).
The GETS file upload limit is 10 MB. The file should be labelled as:
