The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) seeks to engage providers to deliver additional Income Related Rent Subsidy (IRRS) Housing Services in Auckland from November 2015. The aim of these Services is to provide additional social housing places in the high demand Auckland market for prospective tenants from the MSD Housing Register, over and above the current availability of social housing places.
MSD seeks to purchase these additional IRRS places under different, more tailored, contractual arrangements than those used for existed IRRS contracts, in order to help promote the supply of social housing places in Auckland.
An additional 1,000 social housing places are sought in Auckland by June 2018. This is likely to require a number of proposals to be submitted of varying scale from multiple parties. MSD has recently appointed an Auckland based Social Housing Supply Team who will work with the market to develop proposals that will meet this demand.
The closing date for submissions for this RFP has been extended to 31 March 2018.
All closing date references within the IRRS Housing Services Auckland RFP documents that state 25 November 2015 and the previous notice that states 25 November 2016 will now be replaced with the new closing date of 31 March 2018.
