The Ministry of Education is seeking a Main Contractor for 6 new MLE classrooms at Richmond Road School.
Richmond Road School is a relatively unique inner city school, with a strong focus on Kiwi Connection education. A block at the School was recently badly damaged by fire, thus requiring complete demolition. As such, a new classroom block is urgently required. The new block is intended to account for lost classroom area as well as future roll growth.
The Ministry is looking to obtain expressions of interest from qualified builders to perform the following works;
• Construct six (6) new Modern Learning Environment (MLE) classrooms and break-out space(s) comprising split-level suspended concrete floor slab, steel and timber structural frames, external light-weight claddings and roofing, complete with specified building services systems, and associated external works, and including linkages to existing buildings as shown on the sample drawings.
All works for the new classroom block will be in accordance with this Registration and provided design documentation. This initial step is part of a two-stage, open tender process advertised on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS). Once selected, the short listed respondents will be contacted and receive a complete set of project documentation. This will generally include a detailed specification, architectural and structural drawing sets and other necessary forms and checklists to be completed as the second stage submission of detailed tender documentation by the Contractor.
