The Ministry for the Environment (the Ministry) aims to become a leader in stakeholder engagement. More information is needed about how our stakeholders would like to interact with the Resource Management (RM) system, before the RM Directorate develops new engagement practices, channels and tools. The RM Directorate also needs advice about different cutting edge but cost-effective methods of engagement that would suit the needs of these groups, which can then be tested with the groups during the research process.

The RM Directorate also requires a framework to monitor and evaluate our stakeholder engagement practices on an on-going basis. This will enable the RM Directorate to measure the success of its Strategy (including any changes made as the result of this research), and ensure that teams build monitoring and evaluation components into their stakeholder engagement plans.
